Position Title: Associate Campus Pastor – Groups & Community Engagement - Local                         
Reports to: Campus Pastor                                                               
Status: Full-Time 
 
Position Summary: The focus for this position will be to directly connect church congregants to next steps focused on  groups and living in community. This will be accomplished by sustaining and growing Mesa campus groups, creating engaging community environments on campus that foster community, and pushing those who connect with us through benevolence towards spiritual growth. Additionally, this role will support the Campus Pastor’s work with overall campus community life, Benevolence, First Impressions, and Care Ministry, and Men’s or Women’s ministry  as needed. The ACP will actively recruit and lead volunteers to be the point people for key ministry areas on his/her campus. 
 
This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the vision of Central Christian Church. 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
Whenever possible we should be identifying, developing, and leading volunteers who execute on the responsibilities below. 
 
  • Groups Ministry 
    • Oversee recruitment and execution of Groups and Rooted at the campus level. 
    • Champion and lead weekly midweek on campus group meetings during seasons of groups ministry i.e. “First Groups”. 
    • Develop Groups that meet the needs of the local community and campus. 
    • Maintain Groups vision alignment on his/her campus. 
    • Innovate and bring creativity for group growth, leader development and connecting people to groups. 
    • Develop personal goals and strategize campus growth of leaders and groups. 
    • Visit neighborhood groups frequently for pastoral care and connectivity to staff team. 
    • Regularly touch base with Central Services Groups Pastor to discuss Campus Group health and alignment. 
    • Perform all administrative duties needed for position. 
  • Central Community 
    • Support the Campus with the execution of monthly “community weekends”. 
    • Innovate and create fresh ideas that encourage our people to create memories, arrive early, and leave late because they are living in community as a church 
  • Volunteer Champion 
    • Build volunteer teams and specifically, focus on developing high-capacity volunteers for Groups events, high-caliber leaders for groups, and community weekends. 
    • Recruit volunteer leaders to champion, coach and to assist in the leadership of the Groups Ministry for his/her campus. 
  • Benevolence Ministry 
    • Oversee benevolence for the Mesa campus and connect those who apply and receive benevolence towards weekend services, Enrich ministries, groups, or other next steps. 
  • Campus Life – Support the Campus Pastor in his/her efforts to love the congregation, build a strong campus community and to reach the community that surrounds the campus. 
  • Understand and achieve goals that are set every year. 
  • Act as one of the primary backups for Campus Pastor in his or her absence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied area. 
  • Prefer 3 years of related ministry experience. 
  • Recent leadership experience of leading leaders. 
  • Hard worker who is flexible and adaptable. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to personally administrate. 
  • Must be proficient in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and proficient in the application of Rock. 
Role model in personal life: 

  • Must align with the vision, and values of Central Christian Church and be committed to doing Central no harm. 
  • Financially support the vision of Central Christian Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income. 
  • Growing in your personal relationship with Christ, while developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the Church.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear;. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
